Chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami received an Honorary Doctorate

   Tamil Nadu Chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Sunday received an Honorary Doctorate  from Dr MGR Educational and Research Institute (Deemed  University) here.

  Edappadi K Palaniswami  is the third AIADMKChief minister to receive the Honour after M G Ramachandran and J Jayalalithaa. The citation said the honor  was awarded for his exemplary services to the State as Chief minister.

After receiving the degree, the Chief minister said the Honorary  Doctorate had only added to his responsibility. “During graduation, students would take a pledge to fulfil their responsibility to contribute to the development of society. Likewise, after receiving the honorary Doctorate, my responsibilities too have increased,” he said.

On the occasion, the Chief minister, in turn, conferred Honorary Doctorates on DRDO Chairman G Satheesh Reddy,Mmusic Director Harris Jayaraj, Actor and Dancer Shobana Chandrakumar and Chairman and Director of Ganga Hospital S Raja Sabapathy.

Founder-chancellor of the Dr MGR Educational and Research Institute A C Shanmugam, who presented the honorary Doctorate to the CM, said the University has produced more than one lakh graduates across its campuses in Chennai, Bengaluru and Arani.
